Who We Are
Division 9 Specialty has been serving clients since 2015 as a union contractor with C-2 licensing (License #1003305). We have extensive experience handling both public and private sector projects, with a focus on contracts involving school districts, local businesses, and tenant improvements. Our service areas include San Francisco, the East Bay, North Bay, and South Bay regions.
What We Do
We specialize in a wide range of interior architectural finishes, including suspended acoustical ceilings, linear metal ceilings, and metal or backboard wall panels. Our team also installs high-quality wood ceiling and wall systems, as well as acoustical wall and ceiling panels designed for sound control and aesthetic appeal.
Key Personnel
Owner Justin Hume brings over two decades of industry experience to Division 9 Specialty. After completing trade school prior to 2000, he built a strong foundation working under respected local leaders as a Journeyman Carpenter, Foreman, Estimator, and Project Manager. Grateful for the mentorship he received—much of it from tradespeople now nearing retirement—Hume recognized a gap in the local market and took the initiative to launch Division 9 Specialty. Since founding the company in 2015, he has overseen its growth, managing day-to-day operations, estimating, and project management—drawing daily on the depth of knowledge he’s gained throughout his career.
